The work I am submitting shows my potential in all aspects of photography. i have portraiture, still life, photojournalism and fashion. I first discovered my love for photography quite late, only having bought my first camera when i was 17. However i believe this works in my advantage having a fresh look, style and strong commitment to the course. Through my education life, i have always aimed down the media path, having studied a BTEC in media, AS media and AS photography, along with my current course in Graphics. All these qualifications have given me the advantage of learning what potential clients might ask for in the media world and generating imaginative and creative ideas. Graphics, which i'm currently studying, has giving me the ability of using photographic work in the right media forms from posters to magazines and believe this will help me a lot in the long run of my chosen career path. Throughout my courses I realised I had a passion for photographic journalism. I believe that journalistic photography can create a stronger connection to a viewer, as there is a high chance that the image is going to affect them in some way whether it be physical or emotional. Dorothea Lange's work had a strong affect on me as the emotion in her work was all natural and there was nothing staged or set up in her photos. Having a love for photographic journalism, I was asked to take pictures for an NHS document about the health and well being of residents in New Wortley, Leeds. I also had the opportunity to photograph an 'Occupy' protest in Amsterdam, where I was able to create a collection of images, showing the variety of people that were protesting. This made me realise that the best images come to those who are in the right place at the right time, and I hope that the course your offering will prepare me for the opportunities that will occur.
Monday
This image was taken in Amsterdam when the fog caused a lot of hassle with ground and air traffic! however i found it beautiful and a opportunity to take some interesting shots.
This image is one of my favourite, as he stands in the middle of the protest, you can see the confusion on his face, as he obviously has no idea whats going on.
This is another example of the fog in Amsterdam. i love how the image almost has its own vanishing point with the top of the building missing completely.
This image was taken on a bridge over a motorway, all though the quality is not that high as it was taken on my camera phone, i believe it shows how i thought about the composition .

This images also uses my models eyes as a focal centre point, and i love how the lighting of the leaves covered and shaded parts of her face, and left the brightneess of her eyes.

'Dorothea Lange' is my favourite photographer, as she manages to capture pure emotions to create feelings, i believe this images does that by showing laughter and happiness.

i love how the lighting in this picture is all natural and it creates a very pure look.
This was one of the first images that was taken on my DSLR, i love how after revisiting the place the image was taken, i cant find the exact spot as there are so many surrounding trees.
This image appeals to me as the as the repetition runs through the car, the colour yellow, the lampposts and even the shadows.
This image stands out due to the contrast between my model and the white background. This image was taken in my room, as i made sure i had one white wall to act as my backdrop!.
